This was our first time eating here. I'm only giving 5 stars for the food. Maybe 2 stars for the service. The meal was amazing. The service was not so good. We waited for our drinks for like 20 minutes. The drinks didn't even come together. Nothing special about them. Bloody Mary and an Italian creme. Other than that. Everything else good. The building was awesome. Have to come see it. Hopefully you won't get a horrible waitress

We love their chicken piccata and fettuccine with meat sauce. Don’t skip the cheese garlic bread as an appetizer!

We went here to celebrate my mother in law's birthday and yeah I would say it's less than the hype. We had a reservation thankfully but it still took 15 minutes just to take our drink orders. We went ahead and ordered an appitazer and our meals while putting in drinks and it seemed we were ignored until the check. On top of that they kept forgetting things like the wrong drinks and the wrong food. Come one when you cost that much you have to watch the basic details. The saving grace is that the food was decent.

had a wonderful time! Rachel was our server; she is the best server i have had in quite awhile; very attentative, very friendly, very helpful! i had spaghetti with meat sauce. we also had bread, salad, cheesy bread appetizer & the spumoni. everything was delicious. my "sidecar sangria" was also very good. the building is wonderful & full of eclectic pieces. we were able to eat in the trolley! parked in lot around the corner for $7.00. will be back!

I take my granddaughter there every year for her birthday right our tradition! March 10th Well this time the service sucked and so did our food. We have always had a great experience when we come there but not this year. She said to me grandma can we go somewhere else next year? We come over several times a year but not anymore. Thanks

The prices are great here. You definitely get a good deal for your money. I wish that they opened earlier 11 a.m. versus noon on Sunday's and 11:30 other days, but what can you do?

Great place to visit in Louisville. The atmosphere is very unique and upscale and the food is great, while being very reasonably priced. This is a place that you can go on a date to enjoy the city, get a nice 3 course meal, and leave without feeling like you overspent. My 5 star review is primarily due to the excellent value of the food/experience. However, the quality of service experienced was probably a 4/5 for our party of 8.All in all, I would highly recommend. If you want to explore Louisville a bit, enjoy some good Italian food, and not spend a ridiculous amount of money. This is your place, you won't be disappointed.

Great atmosphere. Definitely make a reservation for weekends. My only complaint is I ordered the chicken fettuccine (I know how original ) the chicken was tiny cubes! Like from a can of cream of chicken soup and the sauce was water. I was so disappointed. Stick to the marinara pasta dishes.

This place is great! Amazing food for amazing prices! The atmosphere is elegant so you can be dressed up but it's absolutely not required. It's a great place for an anniversary or a birthday alike. The only reason I didn't give five stars was because the to go containers are very small and like those cardboard Chinese take out boxes. It didn't make it easy to put the leftovers in without spilling over but that's the only complaint.

Its a beautiful setting. Iconic building. Surprised it was such a mediocre chain restaurant. Definitely always filled with tourists and non foodies. It wasn't bad. Just not as upscale as it looks. Louisville has much better food in dive bars. The service was perfect as expected in Kentucky. Tip the servers not the cook.

The ambience is amazing, the location is pretty central. I was on foot so I don't know about parking. The menu is varied and people will find a lot of options. Italian restaurant desserts generally are simple and tasty (sweet) and that doesn't change with this institution. For the palate i have, personally speaking, i have enjoyed flavour that was missing from the food.

Went there today and they where on a 30 mins wait with a empty restaurant. Once seated it took about 5 mins for our server to even greet us. Her first statement is that we are out of salad. Great start! So we went ahead and placed our drink and food order. About 10 minutes later she showed up with our drinks and a loaf of bread. Our food then showed up about 10 minutes after that. We all needed refills and we requested some more bread. She said I’ll be right back with refills and the bread. She never showed back up to our table till after we chocked our food down with nothing to drink. Then Asked if we wanted our ice cream. We declined and ask for our bill. Another 5 minutes go by just to get our check. Unbelievable that management would tolerate such slow and terrible service. Never ever did we see a manager. We visit frequently and this was by far our worse experience.

Really good place for pasta. Friend wanted gluten free pasta and was the only place we could find at the time. Was impressed with the restaurant.

Always have a good time here. Can't beat the prices and the amount of food you get is phenomenal. Their house ranch is by far my favorite thing on their menu.

We had an excellent server, and the whole meal was wonderful. Located in a lovely old building in the heart of downtown, this restaurant has lovely decor. We started with the sangria for two and the the spinach and artichoke dip appetizer. Next came our house salads with the creamy pesto house dressing. I had the "Pot Porri," which is spaghetti topped with a sample of four of their signature sauces, all of which were delicious. For dessert, I had the decadent Chocolate Mousse Cake! Overall, a very enjoyable meal.

They don't make their own pasta here and the flavours aren't unique but they are good. In my experience with the South, they don't really hit a home run with Italian food quite like NYC, Maine, and Boston. Don't order the Mizathra; it's an attempt on something unique but it's not really that good (first picture). The angel hair with red sauce is simple and delicious, although it could come out a little hotter( last picture). The staff are very nice and attentive. They serve bread and soup or salad with your meal. Very good deal. Nice atmosphere.

Only a couple of blocks from the YUM Center after the UL basketball game worked for us. It’s been a long time since we have here because usually it’s always been packed after game or plays, etc. Fortunately we got here at the right time and were seated fairly quickly. Although they seated us in an overflow room due to a number of tables not cleaned yet in the main dining areas service was friendly, courteous and prompt. If not great Italian food it was reasonably good especially for the price. $13.25 plus tax for a complete meal including dessert is a bargain. Anyway, I love the old building it’s housed in that used to be a men’s clothing store many years ago in downtown Louisville. It helps that it’s close to the YUM Center and Actors Theatre and the Louisville Convention Center.

The service was awful - we waited 20 minutes to get menus and another 30 minutes to get drinks. Dinner took almost an hour to get, and it was absolutely the worst meals any of us have ever had. The chicken parmesan was so overcooked I couldn't cut it. Don't waste your money!

Great atmosphere with mediocre food and lacking service. Expect to wait around a lot, for a table and then for your food. The salad that came with the meal was a handful of rusted iceberg lettuce, a few croutons and some ranch. Not even a shred of any other veggies. Pastas were okay, nothing special. We waited 20 minutes for our drink order. Fun atmosphere to gather but the food and service is lacking.

The waiter was attentive to our needs. The food was delicious. We were given enough time to finish our salad before entree was served. This is the perfect place to celebrate any special occasions. I was there with my husband to celebrate my birthday. Can't wait to go back.

Questions & Answers

I do believe they had a glueten free section on the menu and the have a couple of salads.

Yes but don't have to great place to have a quiet dinner

Of course it does. It has a bar. Its a full restaurant. Lots of families because the food is inexpensive. But you get what you pay for. That being said its always busy.

They had a kids menu posted on front window a month ago...reasonable prices

There is a parking garage to the east.

No you dont

Call the "hammer" LOL

Casual

Right across street from the front door there is a parking lot. It costs $7.00.

It would probably be wise to make a reservation. Parking in the area is almost nonexistent. I live about 6 blocks away and walk because of the lack of parking.
